Official statement: Medical update on Paqueta and Donnarumma
With an official statement, AC Milan shed light on the conditions of five players with Lucas Paqueta at real risk of missing the remaining of the season
As if the disappointing 1-1 draw against Udinese wasn’t enough, two Rossoneri players suffered injuries in the first half. Gigio Donnarumma left the pitch after just 12 minutes while latter Lucas Paqueta was forced to leave San Siro with crutches. Before the match coach Gennaro Gattuso revealed that both Franck Kessie and Suso had also missed out due to injury, just like Andrea Conti.
With an official statement, the club confirms today that the situation couldn’t be worse for Donnarumma and Paqueta. Let’s start with Gigio. The young goalkeeper has suffered a primary lesion to the muscle flexor of his right thigh. New tests are scheduled for him tomorrow to better understand the extent of his injury but it’s certain he will miss the upcoming match against Juventus. Hopefully he will return for Milan-Lazio.
The situation of the Brazilian midfielder is even more complicated. Paqueta’s MRI confirmed a second-degree dislocation of the right ankle. The footballer’s conditions will be reviewed again next week but he is expected stay out for a long time. There is a high risk that Lucas Paqueta’s season could have ended yesterday.
Andrea Conti too miss Juventus-Milan. Like Gigio, Milan hope he recovers for the very important match with Lazio in 10 days. Franck Kessie suffers from an inflammation in his left knee. However the Ivorian midfielder has done a personalised training session today and should be available for Juventus.
Finally Suso. The Spanish winger trained regularly with the team today. His left foot is improving and should be able to start against Juve.
